2011 

  • August 9, 2011 -- The American National Standard (LEO-5000) for Emissions Inventories, Offsets, and Reduction Credits standard was approved as an American National Standard by ANSI on August 9, 2011. This standard was developed under the rules of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The ANSI standard development requirements provide for an open, balanced and transparent standards-setting process that is internationally recognized.

 2010

  • May 24, 2010 -- Leonardo Academy announces a call for applications for three open seats on the Emissions Inventories, Offsets and Reduction Credits Standard (LEO-5000) Standard Committee. Any individual or representative of an entity that produces or creates emissions, inventories its emissions, offset its emissions, reduces or sequesters emissions or creates emissions offsets or reduction credits is encouraged to apply. Likewise, representatives of environmental and governmental organizations, consumer groups, labor groups and academia are all all welcomed to submit and application for committee membership. More.
  • April 28, 2010 -- Committee Selected to Develop Emissions Inventories, Offsets and Reduction Credits Standard.  Following a significant outreach effort to notify stakeholders and interested parties about the opportunities to participate in the development of the Emissions Inventories, Offsets and Reduction Credits Standard (LEO-5000), the Standards Committee that will develop the standard for approval by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has been selected.   • November 18, 2009 -- Leonardo Academy Announces Opportunities to Participate in Development Process for Emissions Inventories, Offsets and Reduction Credits Standard.  Leonardo Academy, a charitable nonprofit organization that works to advance sustainability, announced today five opportunities to participate in the development of the Emissions Inventories, Offsets and Reduction Credits Standard (LEO-5000). Interested parties can: (1) Apply for membership on the standard development committee, (2) Apply to be an observer of the standard development process, (3) Sign up to pilot test the draft standard, (4) Sign up to use the standard once it is completed and (5) Make a charitable donation to support the development of the standard.   • September 2, 2009 -- Leonardo Academy Announces Call for Applications for Emissions Inventories, Reduction Credits and Offsets Standard Development Committee. Leonardo Academy, a non-profit organization that works to advance sustainability, announced today that it is now accepting applications for participation on the Standards Committee that will work to develop an American National Standard for quantifying and documenting environmental emission inventories, reduction credits and offsets.   • June 23, 2006 -- Development of the Emissions Inventories, Offsets and Reduction Credits Standard was announced in ANSI Standards Action and given the ANSI standards development number: BSR/LEO 5000-200x
