Course Length: 1.5 hours | Cost: $50 | Course Description
This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge they need to successfully earn the LEED-EB: O&M procurement prerequisite and credits (MRp1, MRc1, MRc2, MRc3, MRc4, MRc5). The course provides context regarding why procurement is important and introduces strategies for improving sustainable procurement. This is followed by an in-depth look at the prerequisite and credit requirements and calculations, along with a step-by-step example of how to complete performance tracking.
Learning Objectives
Course participants will be able to:
- Define sustainable materials as laid out in the LEED-EB Rating System
- Describe the types of products covered by each LEED-EB prerequisite and credit
- Track and document purchases for LEED-EB purposes
- Complete the LEED-EB Credit Forms for credits involving procurement
- Implement strategies for sustainable procurement
Speaker: Jessica Loeper
LEED Project Manager
Jessica Loeper works with building owners and managers on LEED® implementation and certification projects. Jessica conducts certification application reviews for the US Green Building Council (USGBC). Jessica provides consulting services to homewoners, business owners, and developers on incorporating green building practices into their homes, businesses, and communities. Jessica joined Leonardo Academy in 2008 from Southern California as a City Planner for the City of Anaheim specializing in environmental programs and incentives for the community. Jessica earned a BA in Social and Behavioral Sciences from California State University, Monterey Bay, and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California, Irvine. Jessica is a LEED® Accredited Professional.
