2012

  • April 2012 - The LEO-SCS-002 draft standard is released for public comment by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), with a comment period of April 6 to June 12, 2012.
  • February 2012 - Standard Committee votes to approve the draft standard and Annex A for public comment.
  • January 2012 - Updated versions of the main body of the standard, Annex A, and a Guide to Annex A were distributed to the committee for review.

2011

  • September 30, 2011 - Call for Applications to Join the Product Category Rule Subcommittee of the Committee on Type III Life-Cycle Impact Profile Declarations for Materials, Products, Services and Systems  Leonardo Academy invites interested parties to apply to participate on this new subcommittee. See Press Release (include link to press release) January 2012 - Updated versions of the main body of the standard, Annex A, and a Guide to Annex A were distributed to the committee for review.

2010

  • May 24, 2010 - Climate Institute and Home Depot Representatives Appointed to SCS-002 Standards Committee; Additional Opening in Producer Interest Category. Leonardo Academy welcomes John Topping of the Climate Institute and Stacy Moore of the Home Deport to the Type III Life-Cycle Impact Profile Declarations for Materials, Products, Services and Systems (SCS-002) Standards Committee.
  • April 5, 2010 - Life Cycle Assessment Expert Appointed to SCS-002 Standards Committee; Additional Openings. Leonardo Academy welcomes Thomas Gloria, Managing Director of Industrial Ecology Consultants, as the newest member of the Type III Life-Cycle Impact Profile Declarations for Materials, Products, Services and Systems (SCS-002) Standards Committee. With more than 19 years of professional experience in sustainability management consulting and information technology engineering design, Dr. Gloria’s expertise includes environmental life cycle assessment and life cycle management, applied environment cost modeling, methods and policy implications regarding greenhouse gas emissions inventories, energy efficiency feasibility analysis, and product innovation. Dr. Gloria is a Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional and serves as a faculty member at Bainbridge Graduate Institute. He was appointed to the SCS-002 Standards Committee under the General Interest Category.
  • February 15, 2010 - Call for Applications: Open Seat on SCS-002 Standards Committee, General Interest Category. Leonardo Academy is now accepting applications for a additional member of the Type III Life-Cycle Impact Profile Declarations for Products, Services and Systems (SCS-002) Standards Committee, within the General Interest Category. Any individual that is a government representative, academic researcher, representative of a consumer group or other interested party, and is interested in participating in a national dialogue on life-cycle assessment and Type III labelling is encouraged to apply.

2009

  • August 14, 2009 - Eco-Cycle Executive Director Appointed to SCS-002 Standards Committee; Additional Openings in Producer, User and General Interest Categories. Leonardo Academy announces the appointment of Eric Lombardi, Executive Director of Eco-Cycle, one of the largest nonprofit recycling organizations in the U.S., to the SCS-002 Standards Committee Environmental Interest Category. 
  • June 22, 2009  - Call for Applications: Open Seat on SCS-002 Environmental Declarations Standard Committee, Environmentalist Interest Category. Leonardo Academy is now accepting applications for an additional member on the SCS-002 Standards Committee within the Environmental Interest Category. Any individual or representative of an organization that is focused on preserving and improving the environment, and is interested in participating in a national dialogue on life-cycle assessment and Type III labeling, is encouraged to submit an application.
2008
  • October 6, 2008 - Call for Standards Committee Applications: Type III Life-Cycle Impact Profile Declarations for Products and Services (SCS-002). Leonardo Academy invites all interested stakeholder to submit applications to participate on the Standards Committee for BSR/SCS-002-200x, "Type III Life-Cycle Impact Profile Declarations for Products and Services."
