LEED®-EB Gold Certification is a prestigious rating given to existing buildings for maximizing operational efficiency and minimizing environmental impacts. The I Building earned 75 points and the J Building achieved 69 points to achieve a Gold performance level under the LEED-EB v2009 rating system. The World Bank implemented many green actions to achieve Gold Certification, including: I Building:

Washington, DC, July 12, 2011 – Leonardo Academy announced that The World Bank’s Washington, DC “I” and “J” Buildings, owned and managed by The World Bank, have been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED®-EB: O&M) v2009 Gold Certification. This certification recognizes that The World Bank has implemented continuous sustainability improvement measures guided by LEED-EB, a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. Leonardo Academy was the LEED consultant for these projects supporting the successful achievement of Gold Certification.
