Sustainability Project Manager

Mary joined Leonardo Academy in 2013 as a sustainability project manager, bringing experience in environmental law, sustainable business management, and writing and editing documents for publication.  Mary contributes to several programs at Leonardo Academy, including sustainable transportation, sustainability standards, and sustainable buildings services.  She also works on grant writing and supervises LEO’s volunteers. Mary earned a B.A. from Carleton College in 1991, a J.D. (with environmental law concentration) from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1995, and a B.S. in Sustainable Management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 2013. Mary is also a LEED Accredited Professional, specializing in Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance.  Before returning to Madison, her hometown, Mary practiced environmental law for the City of Chicago, where she specialized in brownfields rehabilitation and litigation related to illegally dumped solid waste.
