Leonardo Academy Contractor Support to the USGBC for LEED-EB

As a contractor to the USGBC, Leonardo Academy currently supports the LEED-EB program through certification assessment, response to general and technical inquiries from registered projects and parties interested in LEED-EB, and the ongoing development of LEED-EB resources. Leonardo Academy managed the LEED-EB pilot and has carried out all LEED-EB certification reviews from the beginning of the pilot through the present reviews under LEED-EB v2.0. Leonardo Academy was also the primary author of the LEED-EB Reference Guide and of the initial LEED-EB workshop.

History of Leonardo Academy's work as a Contractor to the U.S. Green Building Council:

• Supported the development of the Pilot Version of the LEED-EB Rating System

• Prepared the Pilot Version of the LEED-EB Rating System

• Supported the development of the LEED-EB Version 2.0

• Supported implementation of the public comment process for LEED-EB Version 2.0

• Supported implementation of the USGBC balloting process for LEED-EB Version 2.0

• Has carried out all LEED-EB certification reviews for the Pilot Version of the rating system

• Has carried out all LEED-EB certification reviews for Version 2.0 of the rating system

• Was the primary author of the LEED-EB Reference Guide

• Was the primary author of the initial LEED-EB workshop

Leonardo Academy's Engagement in LEED Volunteer Member Support
In addition to our role as contractor to the USGBC, Leonardo Academy has taken a very active role in the development and implementation of LEED-EB on the volunteer member committees. President Michael Arny participated in the very first meeting on LEED-EB development in 2000, and also led the development of LEED-EB as the Chair of the LEED-EB Committee from 2001-2005. Michael was also a member of the LEED Steering Committee during that period, and is a LEED Faculty member and a frequent presenter of LEED-EB Workshops. All Leonardo Academy staff are actively involved in our work on LEED, and over 80 percent are LEED Accredited Professionals. Because of the exemplary nature of the LEED program in initiating market transformation through economically, socially, and environmentally responsible practices, Leonardo Academy is a vigorous support of the LEED program. Leonardo Academy has been a member of the U.S. Green Building Council since 1999.
